JeevanKala products
JeevanKala products are handcrafted by artisans from the remote Himalayan mountain villages of Lapa, Tipling and Shertung. Most of the artisans are single mothers, widows, and individuals with disabilities. Many of these people are considered “ untouchables” (the lowest tier of the caste system throughout Nepal and India). More than 1'000 artisans have received training and employment opportunities through JeevanKala, which developed out of Himalayan HealthCare. Himalayan HealthCare is a nonprofit charitable organisation that has been in Nepal for 25 years. They help provide sustainable wages, health care, and education programs.
